The road has been closed and officers are on the way to clear it.
National Highways said:
‘The A38 in Derbyshire is closed northbound between the B600 (Alfreton) and M1 J28 due to flooding across the carriageway.
‘National Highways service providers are en route to scene to clear the carriageway.
‘Traffic is being diverted via local roads.’

AA Roadwatch reports:
‘Road closed and queueing traffic due to flooding on A38 Eastbound from A61 Derby Road (Watchorn Island) to B600 Nottingham Road.’
