Earlier police incident on A38 both ways from A50 J4 (Toyota Island) to A5111 Kingsway (Kingsway Island). Both sides of the carriageway were re-opened around 17:25, however traffic remains slow to disperse. All lanes have been re-opened.
Derbyshire Police 4:54 pm
‘We are currently dealing with a police incident on the A38 and have closed the road in both directions.
The closure is in place northbound from the Etwall slip road and southbound from Kingsway Island.
Please avoid the area and find an alternative route if you can.’
National Highways – 4:42 pm
‘Due to a police incident, the A38 in Derby is currently blocked in both directions between the A516 and the A5111. Traffic officers are en route to assist; please allow extra time for your journey as delays in the area are beginning to build.’

Road closed due to police incident on A38 both ways from A50 J4 (Toyota Island) to A5111 Kingsway (Kingsway Island). Congestion to A50 J4 / A38 / B5008 (Toyota Island) for northbound traffic and to the Palm Court roundabout for southbound traffic.
