The A38 southbound Hartshay ( A610 Nottingham Ripley) is closed after the incident.
The A38 in Derbyshire is closed southbound between the A610 (Ripley) and the B6179 (Kilburn) following an incident involving an animal in the carriageway. The road is closed for clear-up work.
Non-HGV route. Follow the Solid Diamond diversion signs.
Exit at Ripley Interchange and turn left on to the A610 eastbound. Continue through Ripley and turn right on to Steam Mill Lane. Continue south on to Peasehill Road. At the junction with Derby Road (B6179) turn right. Head west on the B6179 to re-join the A38 at Kilburn junction.
HGV route.
Exit at Ripley Interchange and turn left on to the A610 eastbound. Remain on the A610 to M1 J26. Join the M1 southbound and continue to J25. Exit and take the A52 westbound. At Pentagon island join the A61 Sir Frank Whittle Way and head north. Re-join the A38 at Little Eaton roundabout.
