The A42 in Leicestershire is closed northbound between the M24/A444 and the B5006 (near Ashby-de-la-Zouch) due to a collision involving an HGV which has come to rest in the central reservation barrier.
Highways England Traffic Officers are en-route to scene to assist emergency services.
Highways England  said:
‘Diverted traffic should follow the hollow diamond diversion symbol.
‘Exit the M42 northbound at J11 and take the fifth exit (right) at the roundabout onto the A444 southbound. Continue for 3.7 miles, passing through Appleby Parva to the B4116 junction at Twycross.
‘At the A444/B4116 mini roundabout, turn left onto the B4116. Proceed northbound for 4.6 miles.
‘Turn left onto Leicester Road/Swepstone Road, then immediately right to rejoin the B4116 Gallows Lane northbound. Continue for 1 mile to the junction with the B5006.
‘Turn right onto the B5006 and proceed onwards until the A42 J12 southern roundabout.
‘Continue straight over onto the northern roundabout and then take the second exit to re-join the A42 northbound.
‘Please allow extra time for your journey if you’re travelling in the area this afternoon.’
