A42 southbound closed from M1 because of an overturned crane

The A42 in Leicestershire is closed southbound between the M1 J23A / A453 and J13 (Ashby-de-la-Zouch) due to a recovery operation for an overturned crane.

Emergency services including Leicestershire Police have been in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.

Due to the size of the vehicle and the nature of the complex recovery operation, the road is expected to remain closed throughout the night.
