Updated: The road reopened at 11:31 pm 12 April – All lanes are now open on the A46 southbound between A607 near Syston following an earlier collision.
The A46 in Leicestershire is closed southbound closed between the A607 (Hobby Horse Roundabout) and the A6 (Wanlip Roundabout) and full closure of the slip road for Wanlip (Rectory Road) due to a serious road traffic collision.
Leicestershire Police are currently on scene carrying out collision investigation work. The road is expected to remain closed until later this evening.
