National Highways has issued an update to its work programme on the A46 at Six Hills.
A spokesperson for National Highways said on 19 June 2024:
‘Due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve changed our programme of work which means our planned overnight closures on the A46 northbound between the A606 and A607 junctions will be suspended for one week, commencing Monday 24 June.
‘We’ve been working closely with Nottinghamshire County Council and Leicestershire County Council who will be carrying out urgent re-surfacing work on their roads and will need to use the A46 as a diversion route during their work.
‘Our approved diversion route uses the A606 and A607 which will not be available to us during the County Council works.
‘Overnight closures of the northbound carriageway, between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, will resume as previously communicated from Monday 1 July.
‘We’re sorry for the interruption this work may cause to your journey and we encourage drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when travelling. All closures are subject to change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.’
