A52 Bardills – Stapleford closed because of flooding

Services are at the scene clearing water.

** 7 pm All lanes open – no residual delays **


The A52 is closed eastbound between the B6003 (Bardills Roundabout, Stapleford) and the A6007 (Bramcote) due to flooding.

National Highways traffic officers are in attendance to provide traffic management. National Highways service providers are en route with specialist equipment to clear the standing water from the carriageway.

Lane 2 (of 2) is also closed westbound.

Diversion Route

  • From the A52 (M1 J25 interchange, take the slip road onto the M1 north and follow until junction 26.
  • Exit on to the A610 eastbound.
  • At the A610 /A61002 roundabout, take the last exit onto the A6022.
  • At the signalised crossroads with the A609, turn left and continue through all the signalised junctions, until the junction with the A6514.
  • Take the last exit off the junction heading south to re-join the eastbound A52.

National Highways said at 2 pm on Thursday 28 December:

‘The A52 is CLOSED eastbound between the B6003 Bardills Roundabout Stapleford and the A6007 Bramcote due to flooding.

‘Lane 2 is also closed westbound.

‘Traffic officers are on scene and contractors are en route with specialist equipment to clear the standing water.’

AA Roadwatch:

‘Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to flooding on A52 Brian Clough Way both ways after B6003 Toton Lane (Bardills Island).’
