Bad weather conditions continue to delay the opening of the junction on the A52.
National Highways said:
‘We’re working hard to complete the second phase of the A52 Nottingham junctions improvement scheme as quickly and as safely as possible.
‘We’ve continued to experience bad weather which has prevented us from carrying out the final white lining and high-friction anti-skid surfacing during recent overnight road closures.
‘To complete this work, we require overnight road closures.
‘We’ve scheduled to complete the final part of this work on Saturday 20 May 2023.
‘On Saturday 20 May, we’re delaying the closure till 9 pm, to accommodate football fans leaving the Nottingham Forest ground, to avoid causing traffic congestion in the area. As usual, the road will be open the following morning by 6 am the next morning at the latest.’
‘Please note this work can be affected by bad weather and is therefore subject to delay.
‘However, we’ll keep you updated on significant changes to these plans. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your ongoing patience during this construction work.’
As with the previous overnight closures at Gamston roundabout, the road will be closed at the points below:
Heading east, on the A6011 Radcliffe Road at its junction with Ambleside.
Heading north on the A52 Lings Bar Road, from the Tollerton Lane junction onwards.
Heading west on the A52 Radcliffe Road, from the Stragglethorpe Road junction onwards.
