A52 Nottingham Knight junction improvements delayed by one year

National Highways have updated on the A52 junctions work.

National Highways said on 16 August:

‘When we initially designed the A52 Nottingham Junctions (larger) scheme, our traffic modelling was based on proposed local road developments in the area.

‘However, uncertainty around timelines led us to exclude these developments from our planning. As a result, we needed to carry out additional traffic modelling to fully assess the benefits and impacts of our planned improvements.

‘During this time, we also continued to progress our design and engage with key stakeholders.

‘Because of this additional work, we now expect to begin construction in autumn 2025 and not in autumn 2024 as planned.

‘We appreciate your understanding, especially those keen to see these improvements move forward. However, ensuring we deliver the best scheme possible remains our top priority.
