There is upcoming essential drainage survey work on the A52 between Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft Island.
National Highways said:
‘These surveys are necessary to assess the condition of all drainage assets along this stretch of road.
‘Any blockages identified, caused by debris such as silt, leaves, and roots will be cleared. Such obstructions can lead to surface water overflowing through drainage chambers and onto the carriageway, posing safety risks.’
‘Once completed, road users will benefit from improved road safety.’
Work is being carried out overnight from 8pm to 6am, between 3 November 2025 and 17 November 2025.
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and road users during the drainage survey works, lane closures will be implemented on the A52 as follows:
- 3–7 November (Monday – Friday): Lane 1 closed in both directions
- 10–12 November (Monday – Wednesday): Lane 2 closed in both directions
- 17 November (Monday): Lane 2 closed in both directions
‘We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.’
