Advance rail tickets for Nottingham – Lincoln route at 40% off

East Midlands Railway (EMR) customers who travel between Nottingham and Lincoln will now be able to access cheaper fares after the operator introduced Advance Purchase tickets on the route.

The Advance Purchase tickets will allow customers to save up to 40 per cent by buying the tickets many weeks before the day they intend to travel.

The tickets are ideal for customers who know where and when they’d like to travel. Their introduction will also help EMR to promote more affordable travel options during off-peak hours, aiming to alleviate demand during peak times.

Customers can book up to 12 weeks ahead until the day before their journey. However, they’re limited in number, so the further in advance customers book, the more likely they are to get a ticket for the date and time they want.

Simon Pready, Commercial Director at East Midlands Railway, said: “We are excited to launch Advance Purchase fares on our popular Nottingham to Lincoln route.

“The tickets allow customers to plan ahead and seize the opportunity to travel at a lower cost, be it for day trips with their family, visiting friends, or travelling for work—these new fares allow people to achieve significant savings.”

Customers using Advance Purchase tickets will need to travel from the station and at the specific times shown on their ticket. If the customer misses the train they are booked on, they will need to buy a new ticket. Advance Purchase tickets are only for one-way/single journeys.
