Air ambulance attends as car recovered from high water ditch in Southwell

Emergency services attended the incident after a vehicle left the road and ended up in a ditch with high water.

The incident was reported on Thursday 13 July.

Police said:

‘We’ve attended several serious collisions over the past few days which our serious collision teams are currently working around the clock to investigate.

‘We also attended a one-car collision in Southwell a few days ago.

‘Members of the public and off duty police officers made the call to emergency services and whilst on the phone had tied a rope to the car that had come off the road and into high water.

Nottinghamshire Roads Policing Unit ( RPU ) were first on scene quickly joined by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue and EMAS along with the Air Ambulance.

After some good team work from all emergency services the driver was freed from the car who amazingly had no injuries.

The car was then skilfully removed from the ditch by recovery and the road re-opened.

All in all good team work from all emergency services and recovery team.
