National Highways commences survey works ready for the continuing A52 junction improvements.
National Highways said on 2 January 2024:
‘As we progress with our plans to improve Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft junctions, we need to carry out some further ground investigation survey work.
‘This is so we can understand the properties of the underlying ground.
‘The results from these surveys will feed into our design to ensure optimal improvements are achieved at each junction.
‘The survey works in the area that we’ll be conducting include boreholes and trial pits.’
When will this work take place?
The survey works will start on the evening of Monday 8 January 2024 and take approximately 4 weeks.
To minimise disruption to our customers, we’ll be working overnight from 8pm to 6am. We’ll be working 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, to complete the work as quickly as possible. During the day the carriageway will remain open as usual.
What is the impact of these works?
To accommodate these works we’ll carry out lane closures to the following junctions:
- Nottingham Knight Junction, Monday 8 January to Tuesday 23 January 2024
- Wheatcroft Junction, Monday 22 January to Thursday 1 February 2024
How will the work affect traffic?
To maintain a safe environment for our workforce and customers, we’ll be carrying out carriageway works under single lane closures.
Please note, our planned works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, we’ll notify you if there are any changes to the schedule.’
