All NCT bus service and route changes for Tour of Britain

Stage 7 of the Tour of Britain cycle race is taking place in Nottinghamshire on Saturday 8th September 2018.

The route covers West Bridgford, Trent Bridge, Meadows, Wilford Lane, Ruddington, East Leake, Lowdham, Woodborough and Southwell and will affect and delay:

Due to the nature of the event, ‘rolling road closures’ will be in place and in some locations, buses will have to wait behind the closure until the road re-opens because there are no suitable alternative routes because they are also closed.

In some areas, the diversions and adjustments will be made to services, with these implemented for longer than the advertised closure times, to minimise delays.

SOUTH NOTTS 1 – NOTTINGHAM AREA DIVERSION

From 10:15 until 11:00, buses will divert via Queen’s Drive and Clifton Bridge whilst the cyclists are on Trent Bridge and Wilford Lane.

Buses to Loughborough will follow their normal route to Nottingham Railway Station and Arkwright Street then RIGHT Crocus Street, LEFT Waterway Street, LEFT Queen’s Drive (full length) to Clifton Bridge North, LEFT on to the A52 Slip Road, RIGHT to take the underpass and BEAR LEFT on to the slip road to serve Silverdale. Resume normal route from Silverdale roundabout towards Loughborough.

Buses to Nottingham will follow their normal route to the Silverdale roundabout then take the 2nd exit on to the slip road back on to the A52. BEAR LEFT to use the underpass at Clifton Bridge North, taking the 3rd exit on to Queen’s Drive, passing NG2 Business Park, RIGHT Arkwright Street, RIGHT Crocus Street, LEFT Arkwright Street to resume normal route.

There will be a brief period whilst cyclists are crossing Arkwright Street and buses will have to wait until the road re-opens.

SOUTH NOTTS 1 – EAST LEAKE

Our route through East Leake is closed between approx. 10:40 and 11:00 and some journeys will terminate at Gotham or East Leake and not continue to Loughborough.

09:20 from Nottingham will terminate at Gotham Garage
10:00 from Nottingham will terminate at East Leake, Kirk Ley Top
10:20 from Nottingham will terminate at East Leake, Kirk Ley Top
10:33 from Loughborough will enter service from Gotham Garage at 11:01 and will not serve stops between Loughborough (Baxter Gate) and Gotham (Eyres Lane) inclusive
11:13 from Loughborough will enter service from East Leake, Kirk Ley Top at 11:26 to Nottingham and will not serve Loughborough or Stanford
11:33 from Loughborough will enter service from East Leake, Kirk Ley Top at 11:46 to Nottingham and will not serve Loughborough or Stanford
NAVY 3

From 10:15 until 11:00, buses will divert via Queen’s Drive and Clifton Bridge whilst the cyclists are on Trent Bridge, Wilford Lane and Ruddington.

There will be a temporary break in service through Ruddington, with the last buses as follows:

From City to Ruddington – 09:50 then 11:10 (Green 10 is still serving most of Ruddington to/from Rufford Road)
From Ruddington to Clifton – 10:14 then 11:34
From Ruddington to City – 09:59 then 11:19 (Green 10 is still serving most of Ruddington to/from Rufford Road)
From Clifton (Hartness Road) to Ruddington – 09:40 then 11:00
Buses to Clifton will follow their normal route to Nottingham Railway Station and Arkwright Street then RIGHT Crocus Street, LEFT Waterway Street, LEFT Queen’s Drive (full length) to Clifton Bridge North, LEFT on to the A52 Slip Road, RIGHT to take the underpass and BEAR LEFT on to the slip road to serve Silverdale; CONTINUE on to the A453, LEFT Farnborough Road and continue to The Fairham roundabout, to u-turn and return back along Farnborough Road to resume normal route.

 

Buses to City will follow their normal route to The Fairham roundabout and then u-turn at the roundabout back along Farnborough Road (full length) to the A453, RIGHT Clifton Lane to the Silverdale roundabout, serving the Silverdale stop, CONTINUING Clifton Bridge North, RIGHT Queen’s Drive, passing NG2 Business Park, RIGHT Arkwright Street, RIGHT Crocus Street, LEFT Arkwright Street to resume normal route.

There will be a brief period whilst cyclists are crossing Arkwright Street and buses will have to wait until the road re-opens.

GREEN 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

From start of service until approx. 15:00, Central Avenue and Bridgford Road (which we normally use as an alternative route) will be closed.

Buses from City will follow their normal route until the Cricket Ground stop then RIGHT Musters Road. At the end of Musters Road, Green 5, 8 and 9 will TURN RIGHT to resume normal route. Green 6 and 7 will TURN LEFT and continue along Rectory Road to Tudor Square to resume normal route to Edwalton or Gamston.

Buses to City – 5, 8 & 9 will follow their normal route to Melton Road / Musters Road junction and on to Rectory Road, but take IMMEDIATE LEFT Musters Road (to the top) then LEFT Bridgford Road to resume normal route.

Buses to City – 6 & 7 will follow their normal route to Tudor Square then LEFT Rectory Road, RIGHT Musters Road (to the top) then LEFT Bridgford Road to resume normal route.

At approx. 10:15, Rectory Road will also be closed for the cyclists to begin their ride and buses will have to wait behind the closure until cyclists have passed.

GREEN 8 & 9 – COMPTON ACRES DIVERSION

In addition to the above, Compton Acres will also be closed between approx. 10:15 and 10:45.

Green 8 will follow the normal route to Wilford Hill Crematorium then RIGHT Greythorn Drive (full length), RIGHT Rugby Road to resume normal route.

Green 9 will follow the normal route to Rugby Road (Rushcliffe Arena) then LEFT Greythorn Drive (full length), LEFT Loughborough Road to resume normal route.

GREEN 10 – RUDDINGTON

From 10:30 until approx. 11:00, buses will be unable to serve Ruddington Centre.

Buses to Ruddington will follow their normal route to Rufford Road. This will be the closest stop to Ruddington Centre.

Buses to City will pick up from Rufford Road then LEFT Easthorpe Street, LEFT Loughborough Road (A60), passing the petrol station. Buses will wait their time at Loughborough Road / Ashworth Avenue, departing 5 minutes after their Ruddington Green time.

There will be a temporary break in service to Ruddington Centre, with the last buses as follows:

From City to Ruddington – 09:45 then 10:45
From Ruddington Green to City – 10:23 then 11:23
SKY BLUE 47

The cycle race travels through Woodborough and up Banks Hill at the time our bus is due through and the road is closed for approx. 20 minutes. As a result, the following journeys will not operate:

From Nottingham at 11:15
From Lambley at 11:39 which calls at Woodborough at 11:45
Sky Blue 46 is unaffected and the departures from Nottingham at 10:45 and Woodborough 11:12 (Lambley 11:17) should be used as an alternative.

PATHFINDER 100

Pathfinder 100 is affected by the closure of Lowdham roundabout and several roads in Southwell. As a result, some journeys will run between Nottingham and Lowdham only.

11:10 from Nottingham will terminate at Lowdham War Memorial and not continue to Thurgarton, NTU Brackenhurst or Southwell
11:40 from Nottingham will terminate at Lowdham War Memorial and not continue to Thurgarton, NTU Brackenhurst or Southwell
11:56 from Southwell (Hillside Drive) will enter service from Lowdham War Memorial at 12:28 and will not serve NTU Brackenhurst (12:20) or Thurgarton (12:23)
12:26 from Southwell (Hillside Drive) will enter service from Lowdham War Memorial at 12:58 and will not serve NTU Brackenhurst (12:50) or Thurgarton (12:53)
For Southwell and Thurgarton, customers will need to travel on the earlier 11:26 bus or the later 12:56 bus.
