A suspect is due to appear in court in connection with a report of a man who allegedly hit another man in the face with an umbrella during an incident in Bilborough.
Saleem Tahir, 47, of The Meadows, is charged with wounding with intent and assault by beating and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 17 February 2021).
The charges relate to a report of an assault inside a property in Bracebridge Drive at around 3.45pm on 29 January 2021.
The victim, a man aged in his 30s, received first aid at the scene and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with facial injuries. A woman was also allegedly pushed out of the way during the incident.
Detective Constable Helen Winstanley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The force treats reports of assaults seriously and officers swiftly responded to this incident within minutes of it being reported.
“I’m pleased that our investigation has now resulted in a suspect being brought before the court and we await the outcome of this case.”
