Toot Hill School in Bingham is celebrating another year of exceptional GCSE results.
A incredible 42% of the GCSE grades were 7 or above, which is the equivalent of grade A, while 17 students secured eight or more GCSEs at grade 9, equivalent to better than A*.
Dr Chris Eardley, Head of School, said: “I am incredibly proud of the work and commitment shown by all of our year 11 students, especially after such a challenging and turbulent year.
“Much thanks also go to our teachers and parents who have relentlessly supported our students to ensure they are able to progress into the most aspirational of destinations, whether it be at Toot Hill Sixth Form College or elsewhere.
“However, It must be remembered that these results are not just a consequence of studies during year 11. These students have embraced a love of learning over five years at Toot Hill School.
“There studies were heavily impacted by the pandemic during both years 10 and 11. However, during this time these students have gained valuable new skills in learning and resilience that will serve them well in their chosen career paths.”
The exam results across the school were fantastic but three students – Hamza Adamjee, Yasmin Rahman and Faye Taylor – warrant special praise for securing grade 9s in every one of their GCSE results.
Ash Modi, Deputy Head and Achievement Lead at Toot Hill, added: “The Class of 2021 at Toot Hill School have embodied the Work Hard Be Kind ethos in abundance during the past five years which is evident in their outcomes.
“In a challenging year, we are delighted to celebrate an excellent set of results for our students. Their success is richly deserved, and I must thank the students, the staff and the parents for their ongoing support.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for their maturity, determination, resilience and how they have adapted to the many challenges and changes that have come their way. Toot Hill School continues to a beacon of excellence for student experience.”
