Police are investigating an attempted robbery after a woman was surrounded and her handbag grabbed.
Officers say the victim, a woman in her 50s, was surrounded in The Meadows, Farndon, by a group of youths – one of whom attempted to snatch her handbag.
The woman struggled free and was uninjured during the incident, which took place just after midnight on Saturday morning (4 December).
Detective Constable Emma Dalton, of Nottinghamshire Police, is appealing for help in tracking down whoever was responsible.
She said: “This was an upsetting incident for the victim that we are treating as an attempted robbery, which is an extremely serious offence.
“We believe that a number of young people were on the street at the time of the incident and would like to hear from them, their parents or other residents about what happened.
“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we would urge any potential witnesses in the village who have not already spoken to us to get in contact as soon as possible.
“We would particularly like to speak to anyone who has CCTV footage that may show what happened.”
Anyone with additional information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 10 of 4 December 2021.
