Appeal after body found on the A1 following collision

Police in Lincolnshire were called to a report of a collision on the northbound carriageway of the A1 at North Witham on Tuesday 20 February just after 6.45pm.

Police said:

‘Officers attended and we found the body of a 36-year-old man who had sadly died, we believe he had been hit by a vehicle. His family are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.

‘As part of our inquiries into this collision we are investigating an earlier call received just after 6.35pm from a man on the hard shoulder of the northbound carriageway who was with a white Volkswagen Golf.

‘At this stage we are unsure of the events and full circumstances that have led to this tragic death.’
