Appeal after break-in at an agricultural compound in Notts

The suspects were spooked as officers arrived on scene and in a bid to flee attempted to ram a police vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men broke into an agricultural compound.

Officers were called to Balderton, Newark, Nottinghamshire, at around 3.50am on Saturday 18 September, after receiving a call from security services that two unknown men had entered the premises.

A single man was seen in the compound before a further pickup truck was seen trying to open the gates to gain access.

The suspects were then spooked as officers arrived on scene and in a bid to flee attempted to ram a police vehicle.

The silver pickup truck was later found a short distance away having crashed and the offenders were seen running off on foot.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and to help with the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Julian Eminson-Ferry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Due to the quick attendance by officers in this case the two suspected offenders left empty handed.

“Our enquires are still ongoing into this incident and we would urge anyone with any information to come forward with any detail that may help our investigation.”
