An elderly man has had his late wife’s jewellery stolen when burglars targeted their home at the weekend.
The man has been left devastated after the highly sentimental jewellery has been stolen in a reported targeted incident.
Nottinghamshire Police detectives have issued images of a number of high valued jewellery items in the hope someone might spot them being sold online.
Detective Rich Kinsey is leading the investigation. He said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a house burglary in Upper Broughton on Saturday evening (26 September 2020).
“Two rings, two necklaces and some earrings (pictured) were stolen, as well as an amount of cash from a house in Fosse Way between 5.30-8.30pm.
“It was reported someone has entered the house whilst the occupant was out visiting family.
“The man has recently lost his wife, so he is absolutely devastated. By issuing these images, we hope someone might recognise them.
“If you do spot them being sold online or have any information please call 101, quoting incident 792 of 26 September 2020.”
