Appeal after hate crime on board a Nottingham train

Officers investigating a hate crime on-board a train travelling between Nottingham and Worksop are today appealing for witnesses or anyone with information.

At midday on Thursday 17 February, a man was seated on-board the service watching racist videos on his phone.

He then made comments to another passenger, saying “the Muslims are taking over” and “they would step over you if they saw you in the street”.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone that was on the service at the time of the incident, or anyone with information that could assist their investigation.

Witnesses or anyone with information are urged to contact BTP either by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 193 of 17/02/22.
