A lorry driver has died following a collision on the A42 at Breedon on the Hill, Leicestershire on Monday 19 April.
Police were called to the incident at 4.53pm following the collision involving a lorry on the northbound carriageway just before the junction 14 exit.
East Midlands Ambulance Service were also called to the scene. The lorry driver, a man in his 50s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Road closures were in place throughout the evening and during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday) to allow emergency services to attend the scene and for initial enquiries to be carried out.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of the collision and are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hawkins, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are speaking to a number of people who have made contact with us already in relation to this incident and would like to thank those that have made contact so far.
“We are appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who has any information to make contact with us if you have not already done so. If you have any dashcam footage from the area at the time, we also ask that you please check this and make contact with us.”
