Appeal after man suffers slash wounds defending himself in robbery attempt

Police are appealing for information after a 20-year-old man suffered slash wounds to his hands in an attempted robbery.

‘He was walking in the Derby Road area, between Douglas Road and Derby Grove, at between 4am to 4.45am on Friday (28 September) when he was approached by a black man, aged about 25, who demanded his wallet.

‘He raised his hands to defend himself after the man pulled a weapon out of his pocket, but suffered wounds to the hand. The victim then ran away.

‘It is not known what type of weapon caused the injuries.

‘Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information, is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 564 of 28 September 2018.’
