Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for information after a collection of medallions was stolen during a house burglary in Balderton, Newark.
Burglars stole 70 gold-plated sterling silver medallions commemorating British Monarchs (see picture for example) after breaking into the property in Manners Road between 9.30am and 2.15pm on 19 November 2018.
Each medallion is 21.6mm in diameter and contains about 4.4g of gold-plated hallmarked sterling silver.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “If anyone has any information about this burglary or those responsible for the theft of these distinctive medallions we’d urge them to please call us on 101, quoting incident number 429 of 19 November 2018, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
“We’re also very keen to establish whether those responsible are hiding or attempting to sell on the stolen property.
“We’re appealing to all local jewellery shops and collectors in the area – if you have been recently offered any medallions matching the description, or have any information that would assist our investigation, please contact us.”
