Police investigating a hit and run crash that left a motorcyclist in hospital are seeking help from the public to track down the driver of a car.
Emergency services were called a 6.20pm on Sunday 3 October after a car collided with a motorcycle at the junction with Abbey Bridge and Gregory Street, in Lenton, Nottingham.
The rider, a man in his twenties, sustained injures to his ankle and back after he was knocked from his bike near the White Hart pub. The car left the scene immediately afterwards.
Officers want to track down the driver of a blue car seen in the area at the time and would like to speak with anyone who may have seen it.
PC Iwan Griffiths, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a very serious incident in which the victim was lucky to avoid far more serious injury. We have carried out extensive local investigations in order to track down the driver of a blue car seen in the area at the time and have reviewed considerable amounts of CCTV footage.
“We are now re-appealing witnesses to come forward – particularly anyone who may have dashcam footage of either the crash itself or of a damaged blue car being driven in the Lenton area at around 6pm on the day in question. We believe the car will have had significant front-end damage so it is something people would remember.
“The victim in this case deserves to get justice for what happened to him and I am urging any potential witnesses to come forward and help. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 577 of October 3 2021.”
