Appeal after parked car covered in drawings made with permanent marker pen

An appeal has been launched after a car was vandalised with a permanent marker.

A victim’s parked vehicle was found covered in drawings that had been inked onto it in pen.

The images depicted on the car were all found to be of an explicit nature.

The incident took place in Westfield Lane, Mansfield, and was reported to police around 1.40pm on Tuesday (16 April).

Officers have now released images of someone they’d like to speak to in connection with the offence.

PC Ashley Hewitt, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The owner of this vehicle has understandably been left very upset about the damage caused to their property.

“What happened ultimately amounts to vandalism and shouldn’t be allowed to go unpunished – it’s completely unacceptable.

“We believe the person in this picture may have some information that could assist us with our investigation, so we’d ask them to get in touch with us.

“Likewise, we’d also ask anyone who recognises them to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 360 of 16 April 2024, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
