Police have launched an investigation following reports of a serious sexual assault.
A woman reported being sexually assaulted in the early hours of Sunday (6 July) around the area of the canal towpath between Trent Street and Carrington Street, Nottingham.
Officers with specialist training were deployed to offer support and an area has been cordoned off while investigations take place.
Detectives want to speak to anyone with information and take their accounts.
Detective Sergeant Lee Kirk, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We understand the concern incidents of this nature can cause and uniformed officers will be in the area to offer reassurance and support.
“Alongside this, a team of detectives are working hard on the investigation.
“It is important anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information, or relevant footage, gets in touch without delay.”
