Appeal after two street robberies in Nottingham

Officers are appealing for information and witnesses following two robberies in two consecutive days in the Hyson Green area.

A mother and daughter were walking home from shopping in Birkin Avenue on 16 July 2020 at around 10.45am when the woman was shoulder barged from behind. Her handbag was pulled off her should and the offender ran away.

The next day at around 4.50pm an elderly man was pushed to the ground in Gregory Boulevard and had his wallet containing a bank card and cash taken from him.

Detective Sergeant Karl Thomas is leading the investigation. He said: “The force take robberies very seriously and we are do everything we can to track down the offender and support the victims involved.

“We believe both incidents are linked, with the same offender involved.

“If anyone saw either incident please get in touch and help with us our investigation. Both happened in broad daylight, so we believe someone will have seen it or seen someone suspicious.”
