Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a two-year-old girl was injured in Skegness.
Police say they received a report at 4.20pm on Saturday 28 February that a woman in the Lucky Strike Amusement Arcade on the Grand Parade in Skegness, who was thought to be intoxicated, had thrown a glass bottle which had hit the young girl on the head. The little girl has been taken to hospital for treatment but is not thought to be seriously injured.
Police said:
‘A 41-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of ABH and assaulting an emergency worker in connection with this incident. She is currently in police custody.
‘The incident is believed to have been witnessed by several people, some of whom are thought to have been commenting online about the event.
‘We cannot accept online commentary as formal reports and investigating officers have asked that anyone with any information contacts us directly so that we can continue to investigate and establish the exact circumstances involved.
‘The woman suspected of throwing the bottle is described as white, aged around 40, of slim build, with long dark hair, and wearing a yellow coat and tweed trousers. We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen her before or after the incident, or anyone who saw the event itself.’
