Appeal for dashcam footage after passenger dies following road collision

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the passenger of a car died following a collision in Measham yesterday (Sunday 7 November).

The collision occurred just before 1.55pm on Gallows Lane, between Ashby and Snarestone, and involved a red Seat Ibiza and a green Mini.
The passenger in the Seat, a woman in her 50s, died at the scene.  The driver of the vehicle was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he remans in a stable condition.
The driver of the Mini sustained minor injuries and he was discharged from hospital after treatment.
The Seat was travelling towards Ashby and the Mini was travelling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand is asked to get in touch.  Also, anyone who was travelling along this route and has video recording equipment installed in their vehicles is asked to check the footage and contact officers if they have captured anything that may assist with the investigation.
