Nottinghamshire Police are investigating following the theft of a quantity of cash from a cash machine at a post office in north Nottinghamshire in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 9 December 2018).
Notts Police were called just after 3.35am to a report of four people attempting to break-in to the front of the Post Office in Scrooby Road, Bircotes.
Three of the four suspects, who are all believed to be men, were described as wearing light clothing and were wearing black face masks.
The suspects are believed to have left the scene in a dark-coloured Audi estate car, which is believed to have left the area in the direction of Bawtry.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Hall, who is coordinating the investigation for Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Although this is clearly a theft targeting a post office in a relatively isolated, rural part of the county, we believe that someone out there will have seen the dark-coloured Audi travelling either to or from the scene and we would appeal to those people to get in touch with our team as soon as possible.
“If you were travelling in north Nottinghamshire, south Yorkshire or west Lincolnshire around this time, we need you to think back to recall anything that may have seemed suspicious. We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have captured the dark-coloured Audi on dashcam footage.
“Any information – no matter how insignificant it may seem – could help us to identify those responsible.”
Anyone with any information about the incident or the dark-coloured Audi that detectives are keen to trace is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 151 of 9 December.
