A police dog and firearms officers combined to great effect to detain a suspected knife carrier.
PD Max managed to detain a suspect who tried and failed to pedal away from him on his pushbike.
A sheathed hunting knife and deals of cannabis were ultimately seized following a sighting by Armed Police officers.
The policing team had been out patrolling Wollaton when they spotted a group of people on bikes acting suspiciously.
Officers decided to investigate by approaching one of the riders near Crown Island at around 4 am on Tuesday (17 February).

The rider was then seen to discard what looked like a knife into bushes on Western Boulevard before racing away along Wollaton Road on the bike.
A police dog handler then deployed PD Max, who chased the rider down for around a quarter of a mile before bringing them to a stop.
The individual was put in handcuffs seconds later, with officers seizing quantities of cannabis before going back to try to locate the discarded item.
Having retraced their steps, police managed to find and recover a sheathed hunting knife in a nearby garden.
A 16-year-old boy was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife in public, possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply, and failing to stop.
Inspector Tim Ringer, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a fantastic example of our different Operational Support teams working in tandem to achieve a positive result.
“Firearms officers initially spotted some suspicious behaviour while they were out on patrol and decided to act on their policing instincts.
“That decision ultimately resulted in us taking a bladed weapon off the streets, seizing quantities of Class B drugs, and making an arrest.
“Without the assistance – and impressive speed – of PD Max, it would have been very difficult for our pursuing officers to catch the suspect as quickly as we did.
“This was also made possible by the way our policing teams worked together, so all who were involved should be commended for their efforts.”
