A man was arrested after police were called to reports of a gun being waved at people following an argument over parking.
The armed response unit and response officers were quickly on the scene in Andover Road, Bestwood, after receiving a report of a man in possession of a gun shortly after 4pm yesterday (Tuesday 18 July).
The teams detained a suspect and seized the suspected firearm.
Following an inspection of the firearm, officers concluded it was in fact a BB gun.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He has since been bailed with conditions while inquiries into what happened continue.
Sergeant Megan Barnard, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Whenever we get any reports of suspected firearms being brandished or used, we will always act quickly, as we showed here, where we were on scene within a matter of minutes and had one man in custody.

“We know the concern an incident like this can cause in the local communities but I want to reassure you that this was an isolated incident, and no one was injured.
“We’re still investigating what happened here so I would ask anyone who was driving past or saw anything to get in touch with us or make an anonymous report.”
