A 37-year-old man has been arrested after a report that a man was out in the street with a crossbow and knife.
Nottinghamshire Police Officers were called to Beckingham Court, Mansfield at 2.23pm today (24 September) where a man was said to be threatening another man.
They were quickly at the scene and armed authority was granted.
A man was arrested at 2.40pm today on suspicion of threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon and remains in custody.
Sergeant Chris Chell, of Nottinghamshire’s armed response team, said: “We believe this was a contained incident with no threat to the wider public and we quickly initiated armed response in order to bring it to a safe conclusion.
“We’ve been speaking with local residents and the nearby primary school to provide reassurance.”
“Thankfully no one was injured.”
