Armed police respond to armed robbery in Sneinton

Armed officers and a police helicopter responded to the incident but the man was not traced.

Detectives are appealing for information after a robbery at a convenience store in Sneinton.

The shop worker was threatened by a man with an unknown weapon wrapped in a plastic bag at Johnno’s Mini Market, Sneinton Road, at around 8.05pm yesterday (Sunday 25 March 2019).

The shop worker, who was not hurt, defended himself but the man escaped with a small amount of cash from the till.

Armed officers and a police helicopter responded to the incident but the man was not traced.

Officers are continuing to conduct enquiries in the area today and are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has CCTV or dash-cam footage to call 101, quoting incident number 754 of 24 March 2019, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
