Arnold hairdresser opens new high street salon

A new hair and beauty salon will soon open its doors on Arnold’s high street, founded by a local hairdresser who began his career as an apprentice in the very same building over a decade ago.

Located on Front Street, M Hair and Beauty brings a team of three expert stylists and beauty professionals to the town, providing a range of services including men’s and ladies’ cuts, waxing and a range of eyelash treatments.

Founder, Matthew Johnson, 26, a former pupil at Arnold Hill School, returns to the town following three and a half years at Roots Hairdressing in Gedling, where he was a senior stylist. Before that, he trained as an apprentice at Hair by Gary Newman, which took residence in the same Front Street studio before closing in 2011.

Commenting on the opening of the salon on Saturday 29th July, Matthew said:

“I’m thrilled to be returning to Arnold to open M Hair and Beauty. When I first began my hairdressing career as an apprentice, my dream was to launch my own business in the town and seeing all the hard work come together has been a real pleasure.

“The building itself holds a special place in my heart, aside from working here for a number of years, I actually celebrated both my 18th and 21st birthday parties here too!”

Local hairdressers and beauty therapists are encouraged to enquire about rental opportunities within the studio, which can accommodate eight seats in total.

On his decision to bring M Hair and Beauty to the town, Matthew explained:

“Even after being away from Arnold for four years, I can still feel the same strong community spirit and camaraderie I felt during my days here as an apprentice.

I look forward to welcoming my local clients to the new salon and encourage any new and prospective customers to pop in to see the store. We will be offering a free glass of bubbly during the first week to celebrate the opening week.”

The salon is designed to fit around clients’ busy lifestyles and is open Tuesday to Saturday with late night openings on a Thursday. Clients will be able to experience a range of services, including Keratin Blowdry’s, Balayage Dyes and Olaplex treatments to repair damaged hair.
