Arrest after a stabbing in Nottingham city centre

A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after a man was stabbed.

Police were called to Dryden Street, Nottingham, on 22 August 2021, at around 4am.

Officers arrived on scene in the early hours to reports of a stabbing.

After carrying out CCTV enquires a 26-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article and remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Detective Sergeant Louise Bradford, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an alarming incident and while we understand that incidents such as this are concerning for local residents, we believe that this was self-contained and there is no wider risk to the public.

“While the victim’s injuries are not serious, whenever a knife is used in an incident there is always the potential for far more dangerous consequences.

“Nottinghamshire Police is committed to tackling violent crime and we will always work hard to take appropriate action against anyone who commits a weapons offence.”
