Police have arrested a man following a quick investigation into a fight in a street.
Officers were called to Rivergreen, Clifton, just after 8.20pm on Thursday (19 May) after receiving reports of a group fighting in the middle of the street.
A 25-year-old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of affray.
He remains in custody as enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thanks to the quick investigative work by our officers we were able to arrest the suspect a short time later.
“We understand that incidents like this can be worrying for the local community but our officers were at the scene quickly which is thanks to the quick reporting by members of the public.
“We would like to reassure the community that we do not believe there to be a wider risk to the public and that those involved are known to each other.
“If anyone witnessed the incident, has any CCTV footage or information that could help us with our enquiries we would ask them to please come forward.”
