Neighbourhood police arrested a man after a series of suspected drug deals were spotted in a park.
Officers were alerted to the incident in St Mary’s Rest Garden, Bath Street, Sneinton, around 8.45am on Thursday (4 September).
Members of the City South neighbourhood policing team arrived at the park within minutes and detained a suspect.
During searches officers seized cannabis, two mobile phones and cash.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
Inspector Steve Dalby, neighbourhood policing inspector for City South, said:
“Tackling drug dealing is one of our three priorities as a neighbourhood team and we continue to target resources at the problem.
“We won’t tolerate public open spaces like this being used to sell drugs. This sort of activity can have a hugely detrimental impact on people living nearby and using their local park.
“While neighbourhood officers patrol regularly in known hotspot areas I’m also grateful to members of the public for continuing to inform us when these incidents take place.”
