Arrest after birthday presents stolen from a parked car

A suspect was quickly arrested after birthday presents went missing from a car.

Radford Road response officers were called to Bobbers Mill Road, Hyson Green, on Tuesday morning (10 June) following reports that a car window had been smashed.

Two birthday presents previously placed in the front seat of the vehicle were then found to be missing.

A 27-year-old man was found close to the car within minutes of officers arriving at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle.

The presents were swiftly recovered and made their way back to the car owner.

PC Kevin Bartram, of the Radford Road response team, said:

“Our officers were able to get to this location within minutes of receiving reports a crime could be taking place.

“Thanks to this swift response, we were able to quickly reunite the victim with presents that were undoubtedly bought and wrapped with care.

“We understand the impact any sort of theft has on a person, family, or business and the effect it can have not only financially but also emotionally too which is why we will always do everything we can to investigate and bring those responsible to justice.

“I would also like to take this time to remind car users to make sure that they take valuables with them or hide them out of sight.”
