Arrest after boy assaulted and has bike stolen at Holme Pierrepont

Detectives investigating after a boy was assaulted and robbed of his bike have arrested a suspect.

The robbery happened at Holme Pierrepont at about 7.30pm on 31 May 2021.

Following enquiries officers arrested a 16-year-old boy yesterday morning (Friday 2 July 2021) on suspicion of robbery.

It followed the previous arrest of a 21-year-old man on suspicion of robbery relating to the same incident.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, suffered facial injuries.

Detective Constable Adam Penn, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Violence was used towards this victim who was left shaken by what happened.

“I’m pleased we’ve been able to make a second arrest and our enquiries are progressing.

“Nottinghamshire Police takes these types of offences very seriously and will always strive to bring offenders to justice.

“We believe there were a number of people in the area around the time of this incident. I’d urge anyone who saw what happened or who has any other information which could help our investigation to please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 699 of 31 May 2021, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
