Arrest after drugs raid on Meadows property

A suspected drug dealer was arrested after neighbourhood police raided a Nottingham home.

Officers from the city south neighbourhood policing team executed a warrant at the property, in Wilford Crescent West, The Meadows, at 3 pm on Saturday (22 June).

They seized deal bags, weighing scales, multiple mobile phones and other equipment associated with the illegal drugs trade.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Inspector Steve Dalby, neighbourhood policing inspector for city south, said:

“Cracking down on drug dealers and disrupting the illegal trade is a key priority across the city south.

“We suspected this address was being used to deal drugs and executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

“Neighbourhood officers are at the centre of our communities and if you believe drug dealers are operating on your street, we want to hear from you.

“Your information could be vital in enabling us to take positive action like this.

“The supply of drugs can have a devastating impact on our neighbourhoods. Anyone involved in this type of criminality can expect a visit from the police.”

Anyone with any information about drug dealing should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
