A man has been arrested following reports that a member of door staff was assaulted.
While attending an altercation on the dance floor, the female staff member was reportedly pushed to the chest and a scuffle broke out.
Officers swiftly attended the incident in Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham city centre, at around 1.45am on Sunday 23 January 2022 and arrested a man at the scene.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We understand the impact an assault can have on a person both physically and mentally and want to reiterate that it is disgraceful for someone going about their job to be treated in such a way. Violence such as this will not be tolerated.
“Thankfully the victim did not receive any lasting injuries as a result of the assault.
“We hope that our quick action to arrest and interview the suspect offers the public reassurance of how seriously we take reports of any assaults.
“Officers are continuing to investigate the incident and we would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to get in touch as any information – no matter how small – could greatly benefit the investigation.”
A 28-year-old man was detained on suspicion of common assault and has since been bailed with conditions as enquiries continue.
Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 65 of 23 January 2022, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
