Arrest after man and woman assaulted in Edwalton burglary

A man has appeared in court charged over an aggravated burglary.

Officers quickly responded to reports that a man and a woman had been assaulted inside an address in Melton Road, Edwalton.

A man was arrested within the property following the incident at around 11.50pm on Friday (5 November 2021).

Durell Hartley, 23, of Killisick Road, Arnold, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (8 November 2021) charged with aggravated burglary and sexual assault.

He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 6 December 2021.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We take all reports of violence very seriously. People should feel safe in their own homes and I would like to assure people we are continuing to work hard to drive down crime and protect the public.”
