An investigation is underway after a man sustained facial injuries in a fight outside a Nottingham pub.
Officers were called to The Lady Chatterley, in Eastwood, following reports of an altercation.
A man was found to have injuries, as a result of the disturbance, when police arrived in Nottingham Road, around 11.40pm yesterday (Saturday 23 May).
Within a few minutes of attending the incident, officers located a suspect nearby, who was found to have cocaine in his possession.
The 34-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing Class A drugs.
After further inquiries police also arrested a 19-year-old man this morning (Sunday 24 May) on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Both suspects remain in custody.
Detective Sergeant Nathan Bingham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Within minutes of responding to this report, we discovered a man with a nasty facial injury and arrested a suspect nearby.
“Due to this incident taking place at the location and time it did – on a busy Saturday night – we believe there will have been people who witnessed it.
“As such, we’d appeal for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch with us immediately, as they may be able to assist our ongoing investigation.”
