Arrest after man mugged in a Nottingham alleyway

Police arrested a suspect after a man reported being mugged in an alleyway.

Officers were called to Cobden Steeet, Lenton, Nottingham, at around 6.10pm on Tuesday (27 September 2022) after reports three men had approached the 54-year-old victim from behind.

A set of keys and small amount of cash were reported stolen by the man, who sustained a minor head injury during the incident.

Officers chased down and detained a suspect after a group of men were located close to the scene.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery, assaulting an emergency worker and possession of drugs.

Detective Sergeant Steve Dalby, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were very quickly on the scene and investigations have been ongoing since.

“I am pleased we now have a suspect in custody as our investigation continues.”
