Arrest after man suffers slash injury in bar assault

A man has been arrested following a knife attack inside a Stapleford bar.

Police were called to Larry’s Bar, in Derby Road, Stapleford, around 11.25pm on 12 April after a man suffered a slash injury to his face.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-altering or life-threatening.

A 26-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.

Detective Inspector James Oakton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Officers have been carrying out a thorough investigation into this incident and I’m pleased we have now arrested a suspect.

“We understand any incident of this nature can cause concern within communities so I hope our robust response provides some reassurance to people in the neighbourhood.

“Despite this arrest, our investigation remains ongoing and we would ask anyone with information who has not yet spoken to an officer to get in touch.”
