A man has been arrested following an argument in a street in which a member of the public was reportedly threatened with a weapon.
Officers were called to a disturbance in Gawthorne Street, New Basford, at around 2pm on Saturday (5 February 2022).
It was alleged an argument broke out between two men in the middle of the street before one man was chased.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of a bladed article and theft of a motor vehicle.
He remains in custody as enquiries continue.
Sergeant Robert Palethorpe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers did a great job in arresting a suspect quickly in relation to this incident.
“Keeping the public safe is our priority. Incidents like this are clearly distressing and will always elicit a swift police response. We believe those involved are in some way known to each other and do not believe there was a wider risk to the community.
“We would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any CCTV footage to please get in touch as it may help us with our investigation.”
