A 27-year-old man has been arrested after threatening to kill a man with a replica BB gun.
Officers were called at around 9 pm on Sunday night to Whitwell Road in Broxtowe following reports of a firearms incident.
The offender suffered a self-inflicted head injury was located by officers after several hours searching in the local area and arrested him.
There were no other reports of any injuries.
Police Sergeant Janine Barnes said: “Officers were called last night to the Broxtowe area following a report of a firearms incident. We were quickly on the scene and tracked down the offender to make the arrest.
“The arrested man is known to the victims and there is no wider danger to the local community.
“The BB gun has also been seized.
“The man has since been bailed pending further enquiries.”
